I had an order for 10 shadow boxes several months ago… they were 3/4 finished and then I went full time and in the resulting chaos, they were put away and kind of forgotten about… Luckily…
With the purchase of the new laser came the opportunity to make these shadow boxes slightly different..so the initial built items were scrapped … to be recycled into something else…
Two quick rectangles drawn in Corel… the inner with radii on the corners.
This was sent to the laser and 1 minute and 39 seconds later…
The front of the shadow box… now looking very sweet…
Simple but joints on the sides and glue on the face front…
These are to be sprayed painted black …. so the use of MDF is justified…as well as the weight issue… using 3mm and 6mm MDF will reduce the weight of the entire box …making it lighter to hang on the wall..
Stay tuned to the fitting of the glass, painting and fitting of the jewellry that will be highlighted in these shadow boxes.
More uses for the laser than you can poke a stick at…. and oh so much fun….
