Making the large bookcase using sliding dovetails causes a few dilemmas… how to route the dovetail on the end of a 2 metre shelf..

Cutting the housing in the endpieces was straightforward … using the Leigh D4R and cutting both sides at the same time..

Even doing the blind dovetails for the carcass wasn’t too bad… had to add some height to the bench for the jig to sit on..

But this is ridiculous… and I hope the WHS is not watching… Had to set the jig on the top of a shelf unit to get the height for the length of shelf…

The alternative to raising the jig was to dig a hole in the concrete floor… nah… not really an option…
